As is known, yeast infection is an infection caused by a fungus or yeast called Candida. Yeast is normally found in the mouth, vagina and anus. Sometimes the amount of yeast in the body gets out of control and cause an infection.
Everyone has this fungus, outside and inside the body. It can be found in the skin, stomach, colon, rectum, vagina, mouth and throat. Almost always, Candida albicans is harmless and actually helps maintain the proper bacterial level. However, sometimes it develops an overgrowth of the fungus which could generate a variety of problems grouped under yeast infection.
Yeast infection studies show that there are over twenty species of Candida, out of which the “albicans” are so common that can be found throughout the world as normal body flora.
Among the organisms more susceptible to yeast infection we find women who are pregnant or have diabetes and can get yeast infection, as well as those who take birth control pills. Antibiotics also can cause yeast infection.
The symptoms of yeast infection appear when the number of fungus grows and gets out of balance in relation to other microorganisms that normally are. These fungi usually occur after antibiotic treatment to be prescribed for other cause, or may also occur in association with other diseases such as diabetes, pregnancy, taking the pill or problems that affect the immune system virus (HIV).
The most common symptom of thrush is itching, but this sensation varies depending on where you develop yeast infection (vagina, mouth, and esophagus) and the severity of it, which can range from a simple thrush to a severe disorder.
To treat yeast infection, you can performed different methods, from the most primitive and simple as breathing or the use of yogurt, which retains the lactobacillus, acidophilus capsules or salves, and even small crushed cloves of garlic, which yield allicin, an anti fungal.
Among the most useful advice and care to prevent yeast infection, it is recommended good food and cautious use of certain elements, such as sugars, alcohol and, at the same time, eating food containing acidophilus bacteria, which is the bacterium that helps the body to fight germs “unfriendly” thus preventing yeast infection.
